Research & Development
New technology innovations to enable our customers to operate their systems most efficiently is the overall mission of R&D at Hudson.

To accomplish this, Hudson maintains a state-of-the-art water treatment research and development laboratory located in our Ashland, Virginia Research and Technical Center. The R&D laboratory is staffed with Ph.D. and other scientist and technologists who have available to them a wide range of specialized research and development equipment. Our simulation and testing capabilities include fully automated evaporative pilot cooling towers, research boilers, solids liquid separation, retort cooker and laboratory pasteurizers.
 
R&D helps us meet an increasing range of challenges facing our customers in the areas of:

Environmental regulation
Energy conservation
Water conservation and reuse
Changing customer process needs
Overall water quality and use restrictions
Economic changes
Health and employee safety regulations

In addition to research and development, Hudson also maintains a fully capable customer analytical laboratory. The customer analytical laboratory is equipped with a full range of modern analytical and test equipment to support a wide array of specialized testing needs for our customers.
Equipment and capabilities in our customer analytical labs include the following:

Visible, ultraviolet, and FTIR Infrared spectrophotometry
Multiple chromatography capabilities, including Dionex, HPLC, and gas/mass spec chromatography
Total and differential microbiological analyses
Inductively Coupled Argon Plasma (ICAP) spectrometry
Total organic carbon analysis
